Park and Ride update ahead of the Parade of Sail - 12th July
Published on 2011-07-12
For those looking to attend the highly anticipated Parade of Sail and the 11.30am aerial display by the Red Arrows today, organisers have relocated the Park and Ride facilities closer to Greenock, in order to accommodate the crowds anticipated ahead of the spectacle.
The best views of the departing ships are to be from Greenock’s Esplanade at around 1pm. The new location for the Park and Ride will be at the site beside Tesco Extra supermarket at Port Glasgow. From there, people will be transported directly to the best vantage points.
Visitors are encouraged to give themselves plenty of time to get to their destination.
The current Park and Ride facility at Nether Southbar, Bishopton will be closed and drivers will be directed to the new location. The Park and Ride available at the IBM car park will remain the same, with coaches also taking passengers directly to the Esplanade.
