Sail Training International

Sail Training International is the charity which organises for The Tall Ships Races, with four to five different ports hosting the event each year. Greenock is delighted to be selected as a host port in 2011.
Sail Training International has members from national sail training organisations across the globe from Europe, Scandinavia to as far as Australia, South Africa and the USA. It shares its values with Sail Inverclyde in developing young people through sail training as well as bringing people together of all nationalities, religions and social backgrounds.
The city of Szczecin is the presenting sponsor for The Tall Ships Races, for a 4 year period starting in the summer of 2010. In return for a considerable financial contribution, the Polish city will have the opportunity to promote a massive waterfront development including a major marina and its interest in sail training for young people at the various Tall Ships host ports.
