The Tall Ships Greenock 1999
Greenock was the second port in the 1999 Cutty Sark Tall Ships Races.
On 30th July a fleet of 78 tall Ships berthed at Customhouse Quay, Victoria and East India Harbours and Greenock Ocean Terminal.
For four days Greenock's waterfront buzzed with activity. Sunshine and exceptionally hot weather helped create a memorable event for all concerned. Highlights included the Welcome Parade, the Fireworks display and the Parade of Sail but the stars of the show were the Ships and their 3000 crew members from 16 countries.
